Cleveland Browns - Team History:
Could this be the year that the Browns step back into the NFL playoffs and shock someone? At the start of the season they had Charlie Frye at quarterback and everyone thought Brady Quinn would start somewhere along the way and take the reigns. That is so far from what happened. Frye was traded and Derek Anderson has stood up to lead this team. Derek Anderson is a very young quarterback who came from Oregon State in college and has always been a solid quarterback that can't move in the pocket very well and throws too many interceptions. Well, he has solved many of those problems so far and the Browns are winning games with an explosive offense. With offensive weapons like Braylon Edwards, Kellen Winslow Jr, and running back Jamal Lewis, Anderson has led the team to some impressive stats. The fans have almost forgotten who Brady Quinn is and maybe he will never get a chance since Derke Anderson is performing so consistently.
The Browns have had some success in the league in years past with players like Brian Sipe, Bernie Kosar, Kevin Mack and Ernest Byner, Jim Brown, and Ozzie Newsome. The famous "Dawg Pound" section of the end zone has drawn television cameras for years. They used to be a very rowdy bunch but have toned down their image lately. There were a few years when the Browns had some heart breaking loses to the Denver Broncos and John Elway with "the drive" that really hurt the teams morale. If you go online to Clevelandbrowns.com you can follow the teams wins and loses online throughout the entire season. The site is loaded with up to date stats, standings, roster changes, injury updates, news articles, and gameday moves. The multimedia vault has some great footage of past highlights and they always have the latest video from current games. I like the "Fan" section with a place to chat online with fellow Browns Backers and see what others have to say. The Browns play in a division that has the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, and Cincinnati Bengals. This year the Steelers will push the Browns to the limit and we can only hope that the Cleveland Browns pass the test.
Cleveland Browns Cheerleaders:
We hate to beat a dead horse, but the Browns have no official Cheerleading squad. For years, fans like us have begged the team to get cheerleaders but so far no response. The Browns are not unlike other teams in the NFL that don't have cheerleaders (Steelers and Lions are just a few that don't). I would assume part of the reason there are no cheerleaders in Cleveland is because the weather has been so severe in years past that asking someone to sit on the sidelines in tiny outfits in the cold conditions might be too much to ask. As for now the franchise says there is no plans in the immediate future to get cheeleaders so the fans will have to look at the guys in the Dawg Pound instead. Good luck.

Tickets, Jerseys, and Fan Sites:
Browns fans that want to buy tickets to games, you are in luck since all the games are not officially sold out as of yet. You can still purchase single game tickets - they are currently running a 3 game special for $100 which includes many extras like free food and drink. There are even special family zone seating areas which should attract out lots of families as the team continues their winning ways. There is a nice seating chart of the stadium which shows you each section and level. Shopping online for Browns merchandise is really easy, just go to Clevelandbrownsteamshop.com. The most popular items are jerseys (replica, authentic, etc) for players like Derek Anderson and Kellen Winslow. Pick up mittens, hats, jackets, and sweatshirts of authentic Browns apparel. If going to the games and visiting the official website just aren't to satisfy your interest in the team, consider going to Browns fans sites like Thebrownsboard.com, Dawgbones.com, or the Brownslist.com. All offer a place to voice your opinion and read that of others.
