Honda Civic Buying Guide:

The Honda Civic is one of the most reliable automobiles on the road per Consumer Reports and other leading independent car reviewers. With a solid history for gas mileage and durable engine life, the Civic has become a common site on the highways of America and the 2008 models are sleeker than ever. The new aerodynamic fronts stray from the more classic lines on the older models, but you can't argue with the success that Honda has had with the Civics. You can choose from the Civic Sedan, Coupe, Hybrid, Si Coupe, Si Sedan, and the new Civic GX NGV which runs on compressed natural gas with nearly zero emissions. The Civic Coupe is a fun 2-door model that starts at $14810 (DX) and features a 140 HP, 1.8 liter i-VTEC engine and the Drive-by-Wire Throttle System. The car is sporty and will rock your world with a 350-watt AM/FM/CD audio system with 7 speakers. More for the young at heart but still a fun car to drive. The LX ($16760) more power, comfort and convenience, and the EX coupe offers a touch more luxury at $18710. Topping out at less than $20,000 is the EX-L which combines luxury (leather trim seating), performance, and style.

The Civic Sedan is the 4 door, 5 passenger version from Honda with the DX ($15010), LX ($16960), EX ($18710), and the EX-L ($19910). The EX-L features leather trimmed steering wheel, seats, and front center armrest. The two tier instrument panel provides style and innovation and the voice recognition Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System is available on the EX and EX-L models. With a combined mileage rating of almost 30 MPG, the fuel economy of Honda continues to lead the competition. If you like to buy "green" then the Honda Civic Hybrid will surely impress with an estimated 45 mpg on the highway and 110 HP to help you accelerate to speed. The Hybrid starts at $22600 and the technology in Hondas appears to only be behind that of Toyota. Most of the Hondas come a 5-speed manual transmission with automatic available. Many younger owners take performance parts like body kits and exhaust hookups to enhance the performance of their Civics. The Si Coupe and Si Sedan add more style and sleeker lines to the Civics. You get a more powerful engine (197 HP 2.0 liter) and a rear wing spoiler for sport styling. The Honda Civic GX NGV is an interesting car that runs on natural gas and requires no gasoline at all. Refueling the car can take up to 16 hours if the tank is empty so you can leave it overnight hooked up to a Phill, an appliance that connects your car to your natural gas connection at your house. Driving range is 220-250 miles and if you are stuck out on the road and need to refuel you can go to a natural gas station and in fill up in minutes. At almost $25000 this natural gas vehicle could save you a lot in the long run, but it's probably meant for those that don't need to take longer road trips since refueling could be a problem. 2008 Honda Civic Reviews:

One of our favorite stops on the Internet for car reviews is Edmunds.com. They always provide updated information and research on the latest models from Honda. This years 2008 Honda Civics are a great selection in autos ranging from the smaller Civic Coupe to the new Civic GX which runs on natural gas. The Civic Hybrid is still trying to gain on the Prius in terms of popularity and this years model may tip the scales with almost 50 mpg (fuel economy). The sporty Si coupe and sedan will give you the added power and acceleration that make driving a Civic fun. The family sedan is still very reasonable priced and drives smooth, especially in the city. Consumer Reports is another reliable source when it comes to car reviews and they too rate the Civics near the top of the class when compared to the competition. Civics history of quality made engines and excellent customer feedback make it a car to consider in the $15000 to $25000 price range. The Honda Civic sedan is still considered the "best value" on the market in terms of long term reliability which is what car buyers should take into account. Honda Civic Reliability and Repair History:

Few auto makers can claim the reliability that Honda does with several of their vehicles. The Honda Civic leads the way and has proven for decades that they are built with quality and to last. It's not joke that you hear of Civics going over 200,000 miles and still running fine. Consumer Reports puts out a car buying guide each year and they rate cars in terms of predicted reliability based on owner surveys. The Honda Civic has been top rated for fewest repairs and problems for years. Both new and used Civics are considered a "good buy" with strong engines, smooth transmissions, no issues with electrical or ignition systems, cooling and drive systems that work, and solid brakes. With few repair issues and value pricing, the Honda Civic will remain popular and sell well with dealers.
